VMHaus Hourly UK VPS – Beta Testing Period Review

If you are a follower of the low-end niche in the VPS Industry, no doubt you’ll be familiar with the name VMHaus. The Malaysian based VPS provider has been pretty active since its inception in early 2017, launching KVM VPS products in two locations, United Kingdom and France.

Now they are introducing their newest product, currently being beta-tested; NVMe Storage backed, hourly instance KVM VPS in United Kingdom, hosted on the Clouvider network. What’s awesome is they built a custom panel for this product, and they called it Bonsai.

We applied for a beta test credit, and the founder of VMHaus reach us back in a timely fashion with its usual low-end charm.

After we received the $5 credits, which is enough to spin up a KVM instance with 1GB of Ram, unmetered(?) Bandwidth and 20GB of NVMe storage, we’ve gone ahead and install CentOS 7, and take several benchmarks.

Just as a heads up, they also have a smaller, 512mb plan for $2.5/month if you need one.

The result? Well, pretty decent, although in our opinion, speed to North America can be improved. But remember, this is still a test taken during the beta testing period.

I’ve gotta say, the new hourly KVM product from VMHaus would be a brilliant addition indeed to the hourly cloud sector of the VM industry. We’re looking forward to test their instances more once they exit their beta testing period.
